Matt Shockley
For over 120 years, this high school has proudly served the students and families within White River Township of Johnson County. Over 2,300 students attend Center Grove High School, and their achievements in academics, athletics, student activities, and the arts are well-respected throughout Indiana, and in some cases, the nation. On standardized tests, our students typically score at or above the state and national measures of academic success. Over 80% of our graduates pursue a post-secondary education. As a member of the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference (MIC), our student-athletes compete against the best competition in the state of Indiana and consistently advance in state tournaments. In addition to our nationally recognized student government, we offer over 30 clubs and activities. Our band and music programs are recognized at state and national levels for their excellence, and our art students have won numerous state and national awards for their talents. Each year, I am amazed and so proud of the accomplishments of our students!
As you can tell, I am honored to serve as Center Grove High School’s principal. My most important duty is to create a learning environment that ensures high levels of learning for all students. This happens, in part, by hiring the best candidates to join our staff. Our competent and dedicated staff cares about our students and strives to do what is best for them. In addition, I live and work in a community that values education and supports its schools. Our parents are actively engaged in their students’ success both inside and outside of the classroom. The excellence we have achieved is not by accident. The success of our students is a direct result of a collaborative effort between Center Grove High School and our community.
