  •  CGES receives Full Accreditation from AdvancED and NCA.
  •  CGES featured in Indianapolis Monthly Magazine, ranked 35 of 278 schools in central Indiana.
  • CGES again makes AYP for 2009-10.
  • CGES returns to exemplary PL221 status for 2010     

 

   Students
 
  • Twenty High School students do service at CGES for their Day of Caring.
  • Students collect 3, 260 canned goods for the Good Cheer Fund of Johnson County.  Room K03 was the winner with 385 cans.
  • Breanna Motsenbocker was the winner in the fifth grade division Of the Mary Bryatn Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Essay Contest.
  •    Students collected $175.68 for the Johnson County Humane Society in a change wars effort created by three young ladies.

  • Texas Roadhouse Teacher of the Month were awarded to:

  • Dwayne Marshall is named the Indiana Exemplary Elementary Counselor of the Year by the Indiana Association of School Counselors for 2010.

  • CGES receives a commendable progress rating for NCLB
  •   Students donate clothing items to The Refuge.
  •   Sixty-seven staff, parents and community members gave blood and registered for the bone marrow registry in our September 18 drive in honor of Jake Cox.  Almost every staff member gave.
  •   CGES named Four Star School for 2008-09.
  •   CGES again makes AYP.
Students
  •  Jack Neal a third grader, ran the 1 mile race for Cancer and came in 3rd of 100 runners.
  •  Student Council officers were elected for this school year.  They are Dan Root, President, Megan Libke, Vice-President, Bryan Cornelius, Secretary and Nick Fuller, Treasurer.  
  • 16 Student Council members marched in the parade and carried the banner for homecoming.  Going along with the Disney theme, they dressed as dalmations and said, “101 Reasons to Love CGES.”
  • 35 fifth grade students represented CGES in the 5th Grade Choral Festival Concert on October 15, 2009.
  • Susan May’s art work was chosen to represent CGES at the Habitat for Humanity Contest.  She was honored at a special breakfast on October 29th.  
  • Bryan Cornelius was the top seller for the PTO Fundraiser and received $100.00 and limo ride to McDonalds for Lunch.
  • Miss Allen’s class wins the General Mills Box Tops collection prize – a pizza party for the class from PTO.
  • Center Grove students collect $5,041.00 for Lifeline Missions for Haiti Relief.  
  • John Gudeman wins the “Symphony in Color” art contest sponsored by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. 
  •   Max Newport wins the Poetry contest in the Daily Journal for his poem on Friendship. 
  •  The Center Grove Elementary Math Bowl Team won Bronze (third place) of seven teams competing in March.  
  •   Kerri LeGault placed first in her state gymnastics meet in March.    
Staff 
  • Melody Cragen receives the Texas Roadhouse Teacher of the Month Award for August.
  • Stephen Blackburn receives the Texas Roadhouse Teacher of the Month Award for September.
  • Jeannine Browning is the Texas Roadhouse Teacher of the Month for October.
  • Amanda Ardizzone is the Texas Roadhouse Teacher of the Month for November.
  • Judy Evans is the Texas Roadhouse Employee of the Month for December.
  • Elaine Collins (bus driver), Megan McKinney, Sonny Moore, Dana Thompson and Connie Allen receive Thank and Educator Awards from the Education Foundation.
  • Megan McKinney receives the Texas Roadhouse Teacher of the Month Award for January. 
  • 65 staff and community members donated for our blood drive in honor of Jake Cox.  
  • Jeannine Browning is named CGES Teacher of the Year for 2010.  
  • Debbie Harty is selected as the Texas Roadhouse Teacher of the Month for March, 2010.
  • Carol Stahl is selected as the Texas Roadhouse Teacher of the Month for April, 2010.
     
Principal
  •  Mr. Haddix facilitated mock interviews for the EPPSP class at Butler University in June.
  •  Mr. Haddix served on an NCA accreditation team for Frankton Elementary School.
