M.A.T.H BowlParticipation on the M.A.T.H. Bowl team provides students in fourth and fifth grade an opportunity to sharpen and excel in problem solving skills, team work, logic, and timed competition. Tryouts for this team begin soon after returning from winter break, and practices typically are twice a week, after school, for 45 minutes. A state wide competition brings the season to completion in early March with North Grove's team competing at a local school site. The past two years competitions have been held at St. Barnabas School and Greenwood Middle school. Last year North Grove placed first in the local competition and in the top 10 state wide.

Writer's Club
The Writers' Club is for 3rd and 4th grade students who LOVE to write! Students have the opportunity to write, publish, and share stories in a variety of genres. We meet once a week before school in room 14. Participation in the club begins the first week in December and continues through the end of April. Students will be working through the writing process so attendance at every meeting is encouraged. There is a $5.00 membership fee to cover the cost of supplies.
