• “NON-EVERYDAY” CAR RIDER(S)*

These are students who will be picked up from school via the “Car Rider Pick-Up Line” occasionally or perhaps only on a single day during the course of the school year.

Parents of these students are asked to send a written note to school with their child containing the following information:

    • Date

    • Student(s) Name(s)

    • First and Last name of Individual Picking Up Child (if not parent writing note)

    • Parent’s Signature

The information on this note will be used by a staff member during dismissal to ensure each student is released to the appropriate individual.  Please, be sure to bring a picture ID to avoid delays.

Notes will be received by the classroom teacher and then sent to the office.  A written note is preferred to e-mail, as staff members are occasionally absent or may simply pass over an unexpected e-mail.  Please send these communications in written form to avoid confusion!

STUDENT DISCIPLINE DURING CAR RIDER DISMISSAL

Students are generally allowed to speak during Car Rider Dismissal.  It is at times, however, necessary for staff members to require students to lower their voices, or even remain silent for stretches of time to ensure walkie-talkie pages for students can be heard.

Students who fail to comply with staff directives during Car Rider Dismissal may be sent to wait in the front office.  Parents of said students will be asked park their vehicles, wait for the line to diminish, and then go inside to pick up the student.  Please reinforce these expectations with your child to avoid delays in your efforts to pick up!

*CGES reserves the right to deny any adult without proper identification access to a student.  Please, have your picture ID on your person to avoid any delays!
