  • NAME THAT GROVE!
    Center Grove conducted a contest to give students, parents, staff, and the community an opportunity to provide input into the naming of the new school.
    Nearly 600 people submitted naming ideas in the first round and more then 300 voted on the finalists as part of our contest! 
     
    Ultimately, the Board chose Walnut Grove as the name for the new school.
     
    The process to choose a name was divided into three parts:
    • Round 1: February 27 - March 17, 2017: Parents, students, staff, and community members were asked to submit ideas for names for the new school online.
    • Round 2: April 7 - pril 14: A list of suggestions from Round 1 was put out to the community to vote on their top two choices. The Center Grove Board of School Trustees took those the survey results into consideration as they made the final decision on the name.
    • Round 3: School Board Review, Decision: Per Board policy, the naming of a school must be considered at two consecutive Board meetings. The Board reviewed the name at the April 20, 2017 meeting and voted to approve the name at their May 18, 2017 meeting.
