• Redistricting 2019-2020

Center Grove has developed new boundaries for all elementary schools to move students into the new Walnut Grove Elementary School when it opens in August of 2019. This redistricting does not change the district's boundaries. A committee of parents, teachers, staff, and community members worked to develop the new boundaries that take into account the anticipated growth in the southern half of the school district. More than 1,900 new homes are planned in White River Township in the next 5-10 years.

In December, two proposed options were reviewed through a survey shared with parents, staff, and community members. Those options were then reviewed as part of the Community Work Session in January. The results from the survey and comments provided during the work session were reviewed by the redistricting committee in late January. The committee revised the boundary proposals based on that feedback. An internal group reviewed the revisions, along with additional data, and selected a final proposal to recommend to the Board of School Trustees at its February 21st meeting. The Board heard the recommendation, along with some public testimony at its February 21st meeting. The presentation is available under the Presentations tab. The Board requested the committee meet one more time before they take a vote at their next meeting. The committee met the week of February 25th to discuss the feedback the board received and discuss any questions they had.
A final recommendation was presented to and approved by the Board at its March 13 meeting. Those recommendations will go into effect for the 2019-20 school year.
