National Merit Scholars 2018
Finalists
Center Grove High School (CGHS) seniors Saransh Garg, Hannah Moss, and Madison L. Hodges were named National Merit Scholar Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
The CGHS students were chosen from among 16,000 Semifinalists who submitted a detailed application and provided information about their academic records, participation in school and community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, and honors and awards.
To be considered, students must also have outstanding academic records throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by an official from their high schools, and submit essays and SAT scores.
The 2018 National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced in a series of four nationwide news releases beginning in April.
Semifinalists
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has named three Center Grove High School (CGHS) seniors National Merit Semifinalists. Saransh Garg, Madison Hodges, and Hannah Moss are among 16,000 students chosen from 50,000 high scorers to receive the honor.To be considered for a National Merit Scholarship, Semifinalists must advance to Finalist standing in the competition by meeting high academic standards and all other requirements. The semi-finalists must submit a detailed application and provide information about their academic records, participation in school and community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, and honors and awards.The 2018 National Merit Finalists will be announced in February. Those finalists will compete for Merit Scholarship awards.
