SOCIAL STUDIES
37 Years of Teaching; 25 Years at Center Grove
To me, teaching is important because...
To me, teaching is important because you have the opportunity to have a major impact on another person’s life. Teaching provides a way to give students a new perspective on subjects and gives them the tools to be successful as adults. Teaching allows teachers a fresh start every year with a new set of students, so every year is different and new. Teaching allows me to interact with young people and keep me current on trends with teens and keeps me young. Teaching gives me the opportunity to help young people explore possibilities within themselves and reach their potential. My students learn life lessons about sharing, respecting and appreciating differences in others, and making ethical decisions. Our society depends on an educated population otherwise societies would not prosper.
