    To me, teaching is important because...

    Teaching is important to me because of the role teachers take with young students as leaders, encouragers of personal growth, and examples of how to conduct themselves.  Teachers direct students to think in new ways and encourage students to appreciate knowledge and education.  Little by little, young people gain hope and inspiration for their own lives, especially when it is lacking within their own homes.  Starting a new year with incoming students helps a teacher be aware of how far students progress in a school year.  Teaching is a way of serving others and that offers deep satisfaction for me.
