Center Grove Virtual Enrollment and Athletic and Extracurricular Participation 2020-21
The IHSAA recently issued an update to their guidance regarding Virtual Enrollment and Eligibility for Participation during the COVID-19 Pandemic. As a result, CGCSC has updated our guidelines as follows:
Virtually enrolled students may participate in Athletics and Extracurricular activities if they meet the following criteria:
- A student must be enrolled in and passing a minimum of 5 classes to be academically eligible.
- If a student is enrolled in virtual classes, the percentage of classes that are taken on platforms other than those directly taught from CGCSC staff (Global Campus at CGHS) must not exceed 30% of the total number of courses the student takes.
- 5 courses - 4 GC / 1 Other
- 6 courses - 5 GC / 1 Other
- 7 courses - 5 GC / 2 Other
NOTES:
- Not all courses at CGHS are offered via Global Campus. If you are considering enrolling in the Virtual Instructional Model and your student is involved in athletics or extracurricular activities you must consult with a guidance counselor to ensure that we have the courses your student needs in a virtual format that will meet the participation requirements.
- Co-curricular activities such as Band, Choir and Orchestra are only available to students who are participating in the in-person enrollment option.
- These changes are a temporary response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and are not permanent changes for athletic and extracurricular participation.
