CHIEF RAY JACKSON
Police ExperienceChief Jackson graduated at the top of his class from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Academy (class 329) in 2002. He also received the Physical Fitness Honorary Recruit award. Jackson spent several years with the LA County Sheriff's Department, where he worked custody and patrol and was a member of the Emergency Response Team. Jackson moved to Indiana to work for the Fishers Police Department where he spent 5 years as patrol officer. During that time, he spent 2 1/2 years as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at Hamilton Southeastern HS, was a member of the S.W.A.T. sniper team, and taught D.A.R.E to elementary students. Jackson is also a special investigator and has worked corporate fraud cases over the years.
Education/CertificationsChief Jackson graduated from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. He attended Washington State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology.Chief Jackson is certified in the following:
- Department of Education DARE Certified Instructor
- Department of Education Certified School Safety Specialist
- National Criminal Justice graduate (certified) in School Violence
- CPR- Keepin it Real Certified Instructor
AthleticsChief Jackson played basketball, football, track and volleyball at Mater Dei High School. His school won state championships in basketball, football and track. Jackson attended Washington State University on a football scholarship, played in two bowl games including the 98 Rose Bowl. He also played for three NFL teams in four years, two seasons in the NFL Europe, and one season in Arena Football League.Favorite BookChief Jackson's favorite book is the Bible.About Chief JacksonChief Jackson is married and has three children. His daughter and oldest son graduated from CGHS and his youngest currently attends CGHS. In his free time, Chief Jackson loves to coach and BBQ.
