Mrs. Smith

Teaching is an absolute passion of mine! I am so excited to work with you and your child! It's going to be a great year full of fun, learning and adventures. I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us in the art room. I thought you might like to know a little bit about me.

I am from Columbus, Indiana where I met my husband David. We have a son named Chase and a labrador retriever named Nash. They all take up most of my free time, but some hobbies that I enjoy are painting, drawing, interior design and working in the yard. I did my undergraduate at Indiana University where I studied Visual Arts Education. I have been an Art teacher for thirteen years and have been working at Maple Grove Elementary for eight of those years. A fun fact about me... in 2019 I was nominated as Center Grove's Teacher of the Year. I was very humbled and honored to recieve such a prestigous award. Hard word does pay off!

I absolutely love teaching art! It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. I attempt to teach with a passion for my subject so that my students develop a desire for the arts and become a life-long learner. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
