Dear parents,

It is that time of the year again, student council selections! We will have two representatives from each 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th grade class.  Last year’s student council raised money for Pennies for Patients, sponsored North Grove’s food drive, collected supplies for the Johnson County Animal Shelter, plus much more.  This year student council will continue to work together to provide our school with fundraisers, service projects, school activities, and making sure that the students’ voice is heard.

 If your child would like to be a part of student council, they must write a one-page letter explaining why they would like to be involved in this year. The letter may include different ideas that they may have for this year’s activities, highlight their strengths, and what they hope to learn from the experience.

The letter needs to be turned in to Mrs. Freeland by August 19th, and then the administration, Mrs. Freeland, and Mrs. Malone will make the decision of who would be a good fit for student council this year. There will be two representatives from each classroom and those representatives will be announcement at the end of the day on August 26th!!!

The requirements of student council will be at least one monthly meeting before school, which will usually be Friday mornings at 8:00 am.  Parents will be responsible for dropping their child off in the morning on these days.
