ROB DANIELS
President, CGCSC Board of School Trustees
Rob Daniels is a 1989 graduate of Center Grove where he was a member of the National Honors Society, lettered in basketball, played tennis, and was involved in several other student organizations.
Mr. Daniels joined the Board in 2017. He has been involved with the Center Grove Education Foundation, Center Grove Strategic Planning Committee, Center Grove Girls Basketball League, and coached AAU girls basketball. Daniels graduated from DePauw University in 1993 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in European History. During his time at DePauw, he studied for a semester in Freiburg, Germany. In 1996, he received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington.
Daniels has been an attorney in private practice for over 20 years. He is a partner and member of the management committee at DeFur Voran, LLP. His practice centers on complex litigation, construction, real estate, information technology, appellate, and general business representation. He is a Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and has served on several legal and construction industry boards and organizations. He is married to Alisa Daniels, a 1991 Center Grove graduate and business manager for Daniels Associates, Inc., a family-owned information technology company. His two daughters are graduates of Center Grove High School.

Jack Russell is a long-time resident of the Center Grove community. He graduated from Center Grove High School in 1974. He is a graduate of Purdue University where he studied Elementary Education. After Purdue, Mr. Russell attended Butler University to study dance and acting.
Russell spent time traveling the country after graduation doing live shows at theme parks and dinner theaters. During that time, he would also substitute teach in the local school system. After a few years working as general manager in his family’s real estate and development business, Russell returned to the world of education to teach full-time. He also spent time substitute teaching while raising his son, Austin, whom he adopted from Paraguay. Austin is a 2013 Center Grove graduate.
Russell has been an active member of the Center Grove Education Foundation. He is also involved with the Center Grove Alumni and Friends group. Russell was elected to the Center Grove Board of School Trustees in 2010 and has served in various leadership positions, including as president in 2013.
SCOTT ALEXANDER, Secretary
SCOTT ALEXANDER

Scott Alexander is a 1991 graduate of Center Grove High School and a lifelong Center Grove resident. He received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in 1995. Mr. Alexander is the Vice President, of Sales and Strategic Partnerships for InTempo Software.
Alexander joined Center Grove’s Board of School Trustees in 2010. Prior to that he was a four-year member of the Center Grove Education Foundation.
Alexander's Information Technology background spans over the past 18 years with experience in various leadership roles. He has spent a large portion of his career in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries with some experience in consulting as well. Alexander brings vast experience in leading teams and businesses of varying sizes through information technology, operations, and logistics.
Alexander and his wife, Dana, have two sons who are graduates of Center Grove High School. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf.
AMY COUNTS, Member

Amy Counts has lived in the Center Grove community since 2002. She serves as a Mortgage Loan Officer with Northpointe Bank.
Mrs. Counts was elected to the Board in 2020. She previously served for four years on the Center Grove Education Foundation Board where she worked to help raise money for professional development and classroom grants for teachers.
Counts is a graduate of the Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a concentration in Finance.
She and her husband, Greg, are raising three children, a son, Gavin who is a CGHS graduate, and two daughters, Sophia and Collins, who attend Center Grove schools.
JANE DUNIGAN-SMITH, Member

Jane Dunigan-Smith has lived in the Center Grove community for more than 22 years. She is the Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at BioCrossroads. Dunigan-Smith has a master’s degree in Business Administration, marketing and strategy and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington.
Dunigan-Smith has served on the Board of the Center Grove Education Foundation and is a graduate of the Center Grove Ambassadors program. She and her husband, Rodney, have two sons, one graduate of Center Grove High School (CGHS) and a senior at CGHS.
Dunigan-Smith was appointed the Board in August 2024 to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Gary Robinson in June. She will serve through December 2026.

BoardDocs is utilized for meeting agendas and other board-related information (policies coming soon) and enables Center Grove to distribute information quickly and efficiently with greater transparency. Additionally, all documents associated with each board meeting will be automatically archived and can be accessed by meeting day or by using the system's comprehensive search feature.
What is Done at Board Meetings?
Board meetings are held for the purpose of acting upon recommendation of the Superintendent, adopting the annual budget and tax rates, adopting policies, and authorizing the spending of funds. Although any matter may come before the Board, most school-related issues are handled through administrative channels.
When and Where are Board Meetings Held?
Regular Board meetings take place at 7:00 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month at the Education Service Center (4800 W. Stones Crossing Rd., Greenwood), with a few exceptions. When Special Meetings are called, or when a change in the time or place of a Regular Meeting becomes necessary, the change is announced to the public prior to the meeting.

Good for the Grove
"Good for the Grove" Work Sessions with the public will take place immediately following the regular board meetings in March, June, September, and November. Public participation will include 3 mins/person for a total of 15 mins. Sessions will not be videotaped.
Official notices and agendas of Board meetings will be posted outside the Board Room at the Education Service Center. Such notices will indicate the time and place of the meeting. Public notices and agendas will also be posted on the corporation website.
The Education Service Center is open to the public Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except legal holidays. Fall and Winter Breaks and Summer hours may vary.
Are Board Meetings Open to the Public?
All Regular Meetings, Special Meetings, and Emergency Meetings are open to the public. These meetings are of the School Board in public for the purpose of conducting the school corporation's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There will be time for public participation as indicated by an agenda item, per Board Policy 0167.3.
All Work Sessions are open to the public. These meetings are of the School Board in public for the purpose of conducting the school corporation's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. The Work Session is an opportunity to share information with the Board, so that they would be better informed. There will not be time allotted for public participation. No official action may be taken in Work Session.
All Executive Sessions are closed to the public. These meetings are held for the purpose of discussion. No official action may be taken in Executive Session.
How Can I Address the Board?
There are two (2) different ways in which the public may address the Board:
- A person who desires to address the Board concerning a scheduled agenda action item must register before the start of the meeting. A registration sheet will be available at least thirty (30) minutes prior to the meeting. Registration will close five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled start of the meeting.
- A person who desires to place an item on the agenda shall register their intent with the Superintendent no later than ten (10) days prior to the meeting. When delegations appear, only one (1) person from each delegation shall be heard.

Board Goals
- The School Board and Superintendent will collaborate with the work and efforts of the staff and administration to emerge from the global pandemic stronger and more innovative as a corporation.
- The School Board and Superintendent will use a system that communicates ongoing evidence that data is driving all decisions.
- The School Board and Superintendent will implement the roadmap to guide and prepare the Center Grove Community School Corporation to serve 10,000 students and beyond.
