Bus Replacement
This fund is used only to buy school buses used to transport children. This includes the large yellow buses, special education buses, and activity buses.
Revenue Sources:
More than 99% of the revenue in this fund comes from property tax and other local taxes.
Property Tax Impact:
The tax levy increases in this fund are limited by a state inflation factor which has been about 2.5% for the last few years. This provides increased revenues in this fund for most years. Buses are supposed to be replaced based on a 12-year replacement plan, but in many school corporations, including Center Grove, the tax levy does not provide enough money to replace buses that often.
