The Board of School Trustees of Center Grove Community School Corporation, Johnson County, Indiana (the “Board”), being the governing body of Center Grove Community School Corporation, Johnson County, Indiana (the “Corporation”) will hold a public meeting for the purpose of receiving public comment on a proposed superintendent contract as provided by Ind. Code §20-26-5-4.3. The public meeting will be held on April 17, 2026, at 7:30 a.m. at the Center Grove Education Services Center, 4800 W Stones Crossing, Greenwood, IN 46143. This notice will be posted on the Corporation’s website, along with a complete copy of the proposed contract. After the public meeting, the Board will vote on the proposed contract.
Summary of Proposed Contract Terms
- The initial contract term is three (3) years, which contract term rolls annually to create a three year rolling contract unless notice is given by a party to not roll the contract term.
- Initial base salary is $210,000. If other Level A administrators in the same performance evaluation category as the Superintendent receive a base salary and/or one-time stipend increase in any contract year, then the Superintendent may be granted the same increase in the sole discretion of the Board.
- A minimum annual 403(b) contribution of $17,500, which amount may be increased each contract year by no more than $2,500 in the sole discretion of the Board.
- The Superintendent may participate in the School Corporation’s health, dental and vision insurance plans and long term disability insurance plan under the same terms and conditions applicable to all other Level A administrators in the School Corporation. - The School Corporation provides the Superintendent with a cell phone for business purposes. The current cost of this benefit is $150.00 for the purchase of the device and $30/month.
- The Board will pay the Superintendent’s share of TRF, which amount is currently calculated by law as 3% of the Superintendent’s base salary.
- The Superintendent agrees to work 260 days in each contract year.
- The Superintendent may transfer all unused sick leave days from her prior school employer. The Superintendent may use no more than 10 sick leave days from her sick leave bank without prior Board approval.
- In each contract year, the Superintendent shall be granted paid personal leave days, sick leave days, holidays, bereavement/funeral leave days, all in accordance with the School Corporation’s Administrative Benefits Statement applicable to Level A administrators.
- The School Corporation agrees to provide the Superintendent a term life insurance policy with a face value that is $500,000.00. The Board pays the premium minus $1.00. The current cost of this benefit is $684.00 annually.
- Upon pre-approval by the Board, the Board will pay on behalf of the Superintendent the cost of membership and participation in professional organizations.
- The Board agrees to pay all reasonable expenses (which is determined in the sole discretion of the Board) for the Superintendent to attend state and national conferences to enhance her professional skills and knowledge, provided the Superintendent receives advance approval from the Board to attend such conference(s). The Superintendent shall comply with all travel guidelines of the School Corporation.
- The Superintendent shall receive all other fringe benefits provided to all other Level A administrators employed by the School Corporation.
- Job duties of the Superintendent are summarized.
- The Board will annually review the Superintendent’s performance.
- The Board agrees to pay an annual automobile and mileage allowance of $7,500.00. The Superintendent will not submit any claims for reimbursement for automobile or mileage expenditures.
- The contract may be terminated prior to the expiration of the contract term by the Board in four different ways, or by resignation of the Superintendent with 90 days notice.
- It is intended that the Base Amount, Elective Contributions and taxable portion of the automobile and mileage allowance will be: (i) included in Superintendent's "annual compensation" as defined in Indiana Code 5-10.2-4-3(c), (ii) used to determine the "average of annual compensation" as defined in Indiana Code 5-10.2-4-3(c), and iii) otherwise reported to the Indiana State Teachers Retirement Fund as compensation for purposes of calculating Superintendent’s retirement benefit.
- The Board will indemnify the Superintendent when the Superintendent is acting within the scope of her employment duties.
