SUBSTITUTE TEACHING INFORMATION

Thank you for your interest in substitute teaching for Center Grove Community School Corporation! Quality substitute teachers are an integral part of our students’ success. To be eligible to substitute teach for CGCSC, you must:

  • Hold a valid Indiana Teaching License or obtain a Substitute Permit
  • Have at least 15 college credit hours (official transcripts required)
    • Center Grove High School graduates must wait one year after graduation before substituting in teaching or support roles at CGHS
  • Complete a national background check (starting at a cost of $31.50)
  • Attend a required substitute onboarding meeting

Note: Individuals without 15 college credit hours may still qualify for support staff substitute positions.

Rate of Pay

  • $107.00 per day ~ with valid Indiana Teaching License or Substitute Permit w/15 college credit hours
  • $117.00 per day ~ anyone subbing for Special Education Severe/Essential Skills teaching positions w/valid Indiana Teaching License or Substitute Permit
  • $117.00 per day ~ with valid Indiana Teaching License
  • $127.00 per day ~ retired Center Grove teacher w/valid Indiana Teaching License or Substitute Permit
  • $14.25 per hour ~ anyone subbing for support positions that are hourly - assistants, office staff, paraprofessionals, etc...

How to Apply

  1. Complete the online application (click HERE)
    1. Select: Substitute Teacher/Support Staff
    2. Create or log into your profile
    3. Include references before submitting
  2. After submission:
    1. Applications are reviewed monthly
    2. Qualified candidates will be invited to an onboarding meeting
  3. Before your meeting:
    1. Complete the Google Form in your invitation email
    2. You will receive onboarding information and new hire paperwork
      1. Complete all tasks listed in onboarding information email

Once all requirements have been completed and you have attended an onboarding meeting, you will be eligible to begin substitute teaching with Center Grove.

Substitute Workday Incentive Bonus:
When you begin to sub for us, you will start adding your days toward a workday bonus that is paid at the end of each school year by using the chart below. 

Days Worked During Current School Year Bonus Pay
31 - 60 Days $200
61 - 80 Days $300
81 Days and over $500
