CENTER GROVE HIGH SCHOOL
National Merit Scholars 2025
Semifinalists

Eleven Center Grove High School seniors were named Semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. They are Alexander Fan, Blake Hanshaw, Daniel Liu, Anubhav Majumdar, Adeline Moore, Arav Nair, Gourav Pany, Hunter Petkovich, Quinn Smith, Jordan Steinkamp, and Rupesh Vats. Approximately 16,000 Semifinalists were chosen from the highest scorers in each state on the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) for the 70th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. They represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.
The Semifinalists have the opportunity to compete to advance to the Finalist level of the competition. Finalists will compete for some 6,870 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million. To be considered, Semifinalists must submit a detailed scholarship application, which includes information about the student's academic record, participation in school and community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment, and honors and awards received. They must also have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be recommended by a high school official, write an essay, and earn SAT or ACT scores that confirm the student’s earlier performance on the qualifying test. Finalists will be announced in February.
