Pleasant Grove Renovation

OVERVIEW

Construction began in 2015 on two new Kindergarten classrooms at Pleasant Grove Elementary. Four old Kindergarten classrooms were renovated, along with the old Art and Music space, which was turned into a Large Group Instruction (LGI) space. The gymnasium was expanded to allow for a full-size basketball court. The gym expansion required mechanical renovations, including an upgrade to high-efficiency boilers.

Work was completed on the project in the Fall of 2016.

TIMELINE

  • The renovation project was started in July 2015.
  • The two new Kindergarten classrooms were completed by Winter Break 2015.
  • The entire project was completed in the Fall of 2016.

COST

The Center Grove Board of School Trustees approved a recommendation to accept a bid from J.M. Rowland Construction LLC. for the renovation of Pleasant Grove Elementary in the amount of $1,821,000.

The project was funded from a General Obligation Bond issue budgeted for this purpose.
