Dr. Erin Stalbaum named next CGCSC Superintendent

Dr. Erin Stalbaum
The Center Grove Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees voted to officially approve Dr. Erin Stalbaum as the corporation's next superintendent. Dr. Stalbaum will succeed Dr. William Long, who plans to retire at the end of June.
The appointment follows a comprehensive, nationwide search conducted in partnership with the University Search Team, as well as a districtwide survey that gathered input from staff, parents, and community members to identify priorities for the future of Center Grove Schools.
"Our community survey made clear what Center Grove families and staff are looking for in their next superintendent, including a strong focus on student outcomes and a genuine community connection,” said Jack Russell, Board President. “Dr. Stalbaum stood out from the start as someone who not only meets those priorities but embodies them. The Board is confident she is a great fit for Center Grove."
Dr. Stalbaum brings 20 years of experience in public education, including a decade in the classroom and leadership roles at the school, district, and state levels. She began her career in Greenwood Schools, where she taught elementary and middle school, before serving as a senior school improvement specialist with the Indiana Department of Education. She later led district-wide academic initiatives for the Kokomo School Corporation. Most recently, she served as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources at Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation, following a role as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Professional Development at Monroe County Community School Corporation. She, her husband, and their three sons have called Center Grove home for nearly eight years.
"This is not a responsibility I take lightly. It is an honor that I am fully committed to earning each and every day,” said Stalbaum. “As a long-time resident of Center Grove, my husband and I credit the school corporation for the growth of our three children, who are currently learning in the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I show up to this role not only as Center Grove's Superintendent, but as a fellow parent and community member who is deeply and personally invested in the success of every child in our community."
Dr. Stalbaum plans to host community Meet & Greet sessions throughout the summer to connect with families, staff, and community members ahead of her first day. Additional details will be shared as those events are scheduled.
