We are committed to addressing and eliminating systemic barriers. We view our work through an equity lens. We keep diversity, equity, and inclusion at the forefront of creating an environment where all staff, students, and community members feel a sense of belonging.
EQUITY TASK FORCE
Center Grove Schools created an Equity Task Force to learn more about equity within our district and community, evaluate our challenges and needs, and create a corporation equity plan. The Equity Task Force conducted a thorough review of quantitative and qualitative data and inequities throughout the district over the last 10 years.
Through their review of data, the Equity Task Force identified five pillars as areas of focus for this work. The task force and administrators will work through these pillars to implement the equity plan.
PILLAR #1: RECRUITING/HIRING
Hire staff that is representative of the CGCSC student population.
PILLAR #2: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Support staff in building more diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environments.
PILLAR #3: COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Create a welcoming environment, where ALL feel respected and honored.
PILLAR #4: INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN
Continue to develop student and parent outreach programs.
PILLAR #5: STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES/ENGAGEMENT
Create an inclusive environment that honors, embraces, and celebrates the diversity of our students.
