December 14, 2025 - North Grove Elementary 4th grader Mariia Khakhula was recognized at the Statehouse on Thursday, December 11th for placing first out of more than 550 entries in the Indiana Statehood Day Essay Contest. She also received a $529 contribution to a 529 college savings plan. Her 4th Grade class and teacher, Mrs. Adler, accompanied her to the ceremony.
