(May 22, 2022) - Center Grove High School awarded 36 seniors their white coats during a ceremony on Wednesday, May 18. The students earned the honor by completing four years of Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Biomedical Science courses.

The recipients include Aalok Adhikari, Ananya Balaji, Grayson Blackwell, Drake Buchanan, Jasmine Cangany, Lauren Erickson, Connor Green, Madison Herron, Easton Hewitt, Bella Hodges, Avery Holubar, Kamry Houston, Jeet Kekre, Alexandra Kominowski, Michael LaRocca, Hope Mander, Abigail Matthews, Ian May, Sydney McConnell, Macy McGill, Paige Merrill, Ava Migliorese, Peyton Murphy, Mehar Oberoi, Emily Pham, Ishani Regmi, Raef Sauer, Maddie Siems, Ainsley Smith, Kiersten Smith, Connor Smith, Tori Spencer, Rebecca Stockman, Shelby Walker, Makena Wallace, and Shirley Zheng.

During the ceremony, students received their coats, learned about its significance, and took a PLTW Hippocratic Oath. This is the seventh White Coat Ceremony for the program at CGHS.

The Project Lead the Way Biomedical Science sequence allows students to investigate the roles of biomedical professionals as they study the concepts of human medicine, physiology, genetics, microbiology, and public health. Students who complete all four years of the program also receive their Ivy tech dual-credit certification. Many also qualify for their PLTW+AP certificate recognized by the College Board as someone who is ready for advanced course work and interested in a STEM Career.
