(December 18, 2022) - Heather Gant will be the next principal of Walnut Grove Elementary School (WGES). She will replace Brian Proctor, who announced plans to leave the position at the end of the semester.

This is a return to Center Grove for Gant. She started her career at Maple Grove Elementary where she taught 1st and 2nd Grade for 15 years before moving into an Instructional Coach role. Gant was named Maple Grove’s teacher of the year in 2016 and was a Center Grove Legacy Award winner in 2016 and 2021. From Maple Grove, Gant moved to North Grove where she served as assistant principal for three years. Gant is currently the principal at Triton Central Elementary School in the Northwestern Consolidated School District of Shelby County.

Gant holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master of Science degree in Educational Technology from Indiana University. She received her Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from Butler University.

Gant and her husband live in the Center Grove area with their two daughters. Mrs. Gant will start at WGES the week of January 2.
