CGHS students earn Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

(February 19, 2023) - The Young Artists and Writers Alliance awarded 35 art awards and 17 writing awards to Center Grove High School students in the 2023 Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition. In art, students earned 10 prestigious Gold Key awards, nine Silver Keys, and 16 earned Honorable Mentions. In writing, students received three Gold Keys, five Silver Keys, and nine Honorable Mentions.
Gold Key winners from CGHS include Kayli Adamson (Art), Hanin Alqutbi (Writing), Olivia Barnett (Art), Nasaria Becerra (Art), Nolan Canfield (Art), Taryn Kennedy (Art), Shawn Liu (Writing), Ellaina Mccullough (Art), Marlee McGowin (Art), Jadelyn Redmond (Art), Hannah Terry (Art), Moritz Wehr (Art), and Amy Weier (Writing). Gold Key award winners advance to the national competition.
Entries are judged by a panel of creative professionals based on how well the works exemplify the Awards’ core values of originality, skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. A ceremony honoring Regional Award winners will be held on Sunday, March 5, at the Marian Theatre on the Marian University campus in Indianapolis.
