Students in Mrs. Alyson Brewer’s class, at Middle School North, conducted a Zoom interview with Major Derek Sutton on Friday, November 13, 2020. Major Sutton is a combat engineer in the US Army National Guard. Students were able to ask him questions about his service in the military. 

In the 25 years he has been with the Army, he has been on two deployments, to Iraq in 2005 for one year, and to Kuwait for 9 months. His favorite thing about being in the US Army is being able to help people. He has helped with rescue in floods as well as people on the highway during winter storms.
