CGHS artists earn 79 Scholastic Art Awards

(February 14, 2020) - Center Grove High School art students earned 79 awards, including 14 prestigious Gold Keys, in the 11th Annual Scholastic Art Regional Awards. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, which is a non-profit dedicated to identifying students with exceptional artistic and literary talent. 
 
The Gold Key winners include Elizabeth Boas, John Brooks, Sam Catalano, Charlie Dilik, Suzanne Dowell, Meredith Hallett, Danielle Harrell, Jonathan Jeffries, Magdalene Joseph, Ezra Lopez, Jaycee Rardin, Elyse Roge, Jolie Weilhamer, and Madelyn Yaden.
 
CGHS students also received 17 Silver Key awards and 48 Honorable Mention awards. The 14 Gold Key winners will have their works displayed in Clowes Hall on the Butler University campus from March 16-22. All award winners are invited to a ceremony at Clowes Hall on Sunday, March 22. Gold Key works will be judged nationally by a panel of creative-industry experts to receive National Medals. National Medalists are recognized in part at the National Ceremony on June 4, 2020 at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
